Hard-charging Ryan Angott rushed for 262 yards and five touchdowns in a little more than two quarters, powering Canon-McMillan to a 45-14 victory over Hempfield in a Class 6A Quad County Conference game Friday night.

Angott scored on runs of 31, 5, 8, 24 and 2 yards as Canon-McMillan forged leads of 17-0 after one quarter, 38-7 at halftime and 45-7 early in the third quarter.

The Big Macs (2-1, 2-1) struck early as Chris Davis intercepted a pass on the game’s second play, leading to a 26-yard field goal by Anthony Finney.

Angott then reeled off four consecutive TDs and David Mowod plowed in from three yards out with 36 seconds left in the first half.

Angott added his fifth TD 3:02 into the second half.

Hempfield (1-3, 1-3) didn’t score until the final play of the first half.

Chartiers-Houston 48, Charleroi 13

Jimmy Sadler rushed for 220 yards on only nine carries and scored four touchdowns, and Chartiers-Houston returned two interceptions for scores, as the Bucs defeated Charleroi 48-13 in a Class 2A Century Conference game.

Sadler scored on runs of 70, 7 and 80 yards, and also scopped up a fumble by a teammate and ran the final 40 yards for another touchdown.

Nathan Cavallo had a 45-yard interception for a score in the second quarter that gave C-H (2-1, 2-2) a 14-0 lead. Cavvallo capped the scoring with a 16-yard run in the fourth quarter.

The Bucs’ Carson Craig added a 65-yard interception return for a score in the second half.

Charleroi (1-3, 1-3) had a 1-yard scoring run by Niko Pellegrini and a 16-yard jaunt by Levi Hutchin that pulled the Cougars to within 21-13 in the third quarter.

Washington 41, Beth-Center 6

Davon Fuse ran for a two touchdowns and passed for another as Washington won its third straight, 41-6, over Beth-Center at Wash High Stadium.

Washington (3-1, 3-1) led by only 13-6 at halftime but took control in the third quarter when Cameron Carter-Green bolted 13 yards for a touchdown and Fuse passed 40 yards to Brandon Patterson to make it 28-6.

Fuse had TD runs of one yard in the first quarter and 21 yards in the fourth. Tayshwn Levy had a 29-yard TD run and Amari Miller capped the scoring with a 13-yard scamper.

Mike Allen led Wash High’s running game with 113 yards on nine carries.

Beth-Center (1-2, 1-3) scored in the second quarter on a nine-yard pass from Colby Kuhns to Daijon Devers that cut Wash High’s lead to 13-6. The Bulldogs were held to 87 yards total offense.

Belle Vernon 49, Laurel Highlands 0

Devin Whitlock had a hand in five first-half touchdowns, leading Belle Vernon to a 49-0 victory over Laurel Highlands in Class 4A Big Eight Conference game.

Belle Vernon (3-1, 3-1, bounced back from its first loss of the season last week to Thomas Jefferson by scoring 21 points in each of the first two quarters against Laurel Highlands (1-2, 1-3).

Whitlock scored on a 36-yard run to open the scoring, then passed 35 yards to Dane Anden and nine yards to Tanner Steeber to give the Leopards a 21-0 lead.

Whitlock then struck on defense, returning an intercepted pass 41 yards to make it 28-0. Quinton Martin’s 45-yard run made it 35-0 and Whitlock tacked on a 29-yard scoring run before halftime.

The only TD in the second half was a one-yard plunge by Ryan Hamer.

Whitlock rushed for 109 yards on only four carries and completed seven of 11 passes for 110 yards. Cole Weightman led the Belle Vernon defense with nine tackles.

Jefferson-Morgan 40, Bentworth 34

Owen Maddich scored three touchdowns and Jonathan Wolfe added two more as Jefferson-Morgan knocked off Bentworth 40-34 in a Tri-County South Conference game.

Maddich caught touchdown passes from 29 , 38 and 26 yards from Colt Fowler.

Wolfe bulled over from one yard and broke off a 7-yard run for touchdowns for the Rockets (2-2,2-2).

Owen Petrisek rushed for 147 yards on 19 carries and scored on TD runs of 6 and 2 yards.

Trent Cavanaugh ran for 191 yards on 22 carries and score on runs of 10, 6 and 37 yards.

Mapletown 30, Monessen 6

Max Vanata passed for two touchdowns and ran for another as Mapletown won its first game of the season, defeating Monessen 30-6 in a Class A Tri-County South contest.

Vanata connected with Lance Stevenson on an 88-yard scoring pass late in the first quarter and threw a 39-yarder to Brody Evans in the second quarter. Vanata had a two-yard TD scamper in the third quarter.

Mapletown’s Landan Stevenson rushed for 201 yards on 21 carries, including an 80-yard TD that opened the scoring.

Frazier 40, Waynesburg 14

Kenny Fine ran for three first-half touchdowns as Frazier kept its playoff hopes alive with a 40-14 victory over Waynesburg in the Class 2A Century Conference.

Frazier (2-1, 2-2) took an 8-0 lead only 19 seconds into the game and pushed the gap to 34-7 by halftime.

Fine scored on runs of 35, 35 and 70 yards. Dom Dorcon had a 35-yard TD pass and scored on a one-yard plunge for the Commodores.

Waynesburg’s Darnell Johnson had a 13-yard scoring run in the first quarter that cut Frazier’s lead to 8-7, but the Raiders (0-4, 0-4) didn’t score again until the fourth quarter on a 5-yard run by Brayden Woods.

Waynesburg had 240 rushing yards but only one yard through the air and lost three fumbles. Frazier rushed for 334 yards.

South Fayette 28, Moon 13

Naman Alemada threw three touchdown passes and South Fayette rolled over Moon, 28-13, in an Allegheny Six Conference game in Class 5.

Alemada completed 15 of 26 passes for 238 yards with no interceptions. He hit Joey Audia from 60 yards and Ryan McGuire from 26 before finding Charley Rossi for the 56-yard backbreaker.

Shay Aitken scored one a 1-yard run for the Lions (1-1, 2-2). Rossi had 5 catches for 93 yards and Audia 5 for 92.

Tyler McGowan threw two TD passes for Moon (1-1, 3-1).
