Q: How would you tame COVID-19 while rebuilding the economy?
A: In the absence of a coordinated public health response by the Federal government Pennsylvania faced, and faces, containing and mitigating COVID-19. Consistent adherence by all to public health tools are demonstrated effective – masks, social distancing, testing, contact tracing, quarantine – until there is a vaccine. The recovery and rebuilding of the economy requires both continued fiscal relief – federal CARES monies, tax relief options – and policies such as paid sick leave, and business interruption insurance. Our business and economy need all of these lifelines. I have supported all and will continue to fight for passage of all.

Q: How would you tame COVID-19 while rebuilding the economy?
A: “Taming” COVID-19 means first and foremost not allowing it to undo ordinary life. We have taken the first important steps in quarantining and maintaining social distance, but we cannot allow this disease to further wreck our economy and disrupt civic life. State government needs to trust its citizens and their local government to best know their situation and how to proceed. The time for unexplained, top down directives is over. American enterprise will soon enough deliver a vaccine, but until that time lets proceed with caution, but let’s move forward.
