Washington had eight different players score a touchdown as the Prexies rolled to a 60-0 nonconference victory over Jefferson-Morgan Friday night at Parker Field.

The win keeps Washington (2-0) undefeated.

The Prexies led 48-0 at halftime as they returned two interceptions and one fumble for scores.

Tayshwn Levy opened the scoring with a 32-yard TD run. Davon Fuse then threw scoring passes of 20 yards to Zach Welsh and 29 yards to Rueben Gordon to make it 21-0 in the first quarter.

Charles Harper returned an interception 29 yards for a score, and Brandon Patterson picked off a pass and scampered 50 yards on the return to make it 34-0 in the second quarter. Brenden Sibert had a 20-yard scoop and score and Eddie Lewis added a seven-yard scoring jaunt before halftime.

Corey Pettigrew had a one-yard TD plunge in the third quarter and Percy Dudley raced 15 yards for a fourth-quarter touchdown.

Jefferson-Morgan (0-2) was held to one first down and minus-78 yards total offense. Two of the Rockets’ three passes were intercepted.

Fort Cherry 49, Avella 8

Maddox Truschell accounted for four touchdowns as Fort Cherry trounced visiting Avella 49-8 in a non-conference game.

Trushell threw three touchdowns to Dylan Rogers and scored on a run of 30 yards for the Rangers, who rebounded nicely from last week’s loss to Chartiers-Houston.

He finished up with 130 yards passing.

Truschell hit scoring passes of 39, 10 and 14 yards for the Rangers.

Anthony D’Alessandro returned an interception 57 yards for a touchdown.

KJ Rush scored on a 10-yard run for Avella to avoid the shutout.

Fort Cherry held Rush to just 18 yards passing.

Waynesburg 64, Bentworth 20

Breydon Woods rushed for 275 yards on 21 carries and scored four touchdowns as Waynesburg defeated host Bentworth 64-20 in a nonconference game Friday night.

Waynesburg (1-1) fell behind 13-12 in the first quarter, then won the game by scoring 40 unanswered points.

Woods scored on runs of 55, 11, 48 and four yards.

Daniel Huffman returned an interception 35 yards for a TD and ran 27 yards for a score for Waynesburg, which rushed for 336 yards. The Raiders’ Jacob Stephenson ran for one touchdown and threw scoring passes of 15 yards to Nate Jones and 11 yards to Nate Kirby. Jones also returned a kickoff 75 yards for a TD.

Seth Adams ran for a score and passed for another for Bentworth (0-1).

Mapletown 20, Northgate 14

Junior running back Landan Stevenson scored three touchdowns in the first quarter, one on a punt return, and that was all Mapletown needed as the Maples hung on for a 20-14 victory over host Northgate in a nonconference game.

The win has Mapletown off to a 2-0 start.

Stevenson scored all 20 points for the Maples and his three touchdowns came in a 7 1/2-minute stretch. He opened the scoring with a two-yard run with 8:58 left in the opening quarter. He added a six-yard run with 3:12 left in the quarter to give Mapletown a 14-0 lead. Stevenson finished with a game-high 123 rushing yards on 23 carries.

Northgate punted on its next possession and Stevenson returned the kick 58 yards for a 20-0 Mapletown lead.

Northgate (1-1) scored on a pair of third-quarter touchdown passes by Austin Mitchell, covering 55 yards to Jaden Mitchell and 48 yards to Lewis Clark, but that was all the Flames could muster.

Mapletown outrushed Northgate 224 yards to 53 and Maples quarterback Max Vanata completed five of 12 passes for 36 yards with one interception.

South Fayette 42, West Mifflin 21

Senior quarterback Landon Lutz ran for two scores and tossed three second-quarter touchdown passes as South Fayette remained undefeated with a 42-21 victory over vsitiing West Mifflin in nonconference play.

The Lions (2-0) forged a 42-0 lead at halftime after scoring four second-quarter touchdowns.

Lutz opened the scoring with a two-yard TD run and Christian Brandi made it 14-0 when he intercepted a West Mifflin pass and returned it 34 yards for a touchdown a little more than six minutes into the contest.

In the second quarter, Lutz passed 33 yards to Logan Yater for a touchdown, scored on a one-yard plunge, passed 33 yards to Nate Deanes and capped the big first half with a 23-yard scoring strike to Connor Harcarik.

West Mifflin did all its scoring in the second half. The Titans had a pair of touchdowns in the game’s final six minutes.

Lutz completed nine of 13 passes for 170 yards. Deanes led the South Fayette ground game with 13 carries for 92 yards.

Ringgold 40, Yough 0

Brayden Fine rushed 164 yards to help Ringgold clobber Yough, 40-0, in a nonconference game at Joe Montana Stadium.

Landon Oslsowski rushed for 75 yards and scored one touchdown for the Rams, who evened their record at 1-1

John Polefko rushed for 62 yards and scored three touchdowns, and Maddox Sukel capped the night 29 yards and a rushing touchdown.

On defense, Polefko had 5 solo tackles 2 assisted tackles 1 fumble recovery and 1 tackle for a loss. Ringgold travels to South Allegheny next Friday.

Chartiers-Houston-Riverview ppd.

The Riverview at Chartiers-Houston football game scheduled for Friday night in Houston was canceled because of COVID-19 issues within the Raiders’ program.

In other games

California bolted to a 22-0 lead, then had to hold off a late charge to edge Beth-Center 36-30 in the season opener for both teams.
