World War II veteran Robert Barnhart of Mt. Morris has a dying wish: to see his grandson, Christopher, one last time and to meet Chris’s wife and newborn son.

“He basically raised me,” said Christoper, whose grandfather, Robert Barnhart, of Spraggs, Greene County, moved him from his home in Chambersburg to a farm in Waynesburg  after he spent four years in the foster care system starting at age 3. “I’ve had an incredible life because of him.”

Barnhart, 96, has final stage heart failure and end-stage renal failure, and is at home in hospice care.

Christopher is determined to fulfill heart failure and complete renal failure, says his grandfather, Robert Barnhart, a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Army,

Bob Barnhart – I haven’t seen mother and baby yet, I would like to seem them before I go. still working on it, correct.

I hope it goes through. World War II Army veteran Okinawa and Japan.

Home right, 3 days a week for three hours. Hospital for checkout, said all I had 8-10 days.

Robert Barnhart was HOW OLD

He’s been reading our paper for more than 30 years, spraggs, for 30 years, bought house in Mt. Morris to be 20 minutes closer to the hospital – he goes to Ruby and being seen by the VA, attached letter from Ruby and VA There were half a dozen attachments, they said he was terminal.

the most frustrating part out of all pif this besides giving deadlines and passions them is soobnoboyd seems to care, embassy told us to drive to Mexican border, she gets taken in to scutsoy, we can do it legally, w’ere 30 something days into this now, 32 and 33 day into this, we’re surprised he is still alive,

Nobody has formally told him he was terminal. His speech is a bit slurred, he’s partially deaf, some days.

eh’s to the point he’s on constant flow of oxygen, he’s on very strong diuretics to force his kidneys to work even though he’s shutting down. his he’s going through this all just to meet his great grandson.

he basically raised me. Try to sugarcoat, when I was growing up he was a real son of a bithc, former military, had to be out of bed at 5 a.m. or get ice water dumped on me, made my bed, he was strict, but did something that made it possible for me to succeed in this world. When I wanted to know how to do soothing, he would teach me how to figure out how to do it, I’ve been at top of major international corparoatins, lived in dozens of countries, h-ii’ve had an incredible life because of his instruction. he was a mechanic, never had a lot of money,

three years ago, I disappeared overseas with work, found out he was struggling, paid his bills out of my account, bought him a house, bought him a car. mope I made back he was a pain in the ass. Up until the end of last year he was mowing his own lawn, had low blood sugar, wasn’t monitoring, he as taking a pill for diabetes, sitting on edge of bed at night, fell and hit head on nightstand, 3 hours sat there, had med alert necklace, pressed button, spent 45 minutes talking with him, his speech was slurred, I have video of all of it, the FD came there, called me in Europe to get keys, took him to Ruby, he was ok, but needed physical therapy, sent to rolling meadows for PT, two weeks after, the last day he was at hospital at Ruby, he walked unassisted from 8th floor to football field, two weeks later, his oxygen levels were low, couldn’t stand, covered with bruises, literarily thought he was in hell, adult protective services became involved, they didn’t follow up, they said we get dozens of complaints from that place.

he’s been struggling ever since he got out, he went back to ruby, even though he’d been there they didn’t recognize him, lost fingers from explosives, ever since coming out of RM he’s been struggling daily to have any kind of life, it’s not the fall,

we have not flied any lawsuits, we’d love to do something about.

I make more Cngential heart failure and complete renal failure, heart not pumping hard enough he’s drowing.

Until I went to school. My mother his daughter separated from my biological father when I was 3, my bio dad was in military,

foster care 3 to 7, she tried to kill me, stabbed me more than once, I couldn’t be with her, so either back to foster care or with him, lived partially between the 2, for 6 years and when 12 or 13 lived with him, then I can answer some of these questions. University at 13, Johns Hopkins University at age 13, Whenever they find out stuff like that

he has designation as atomic solider, anyone at the blast site or near enough to get high doses of radiation, was in Okinawa watched it go off, u.s. military had naval ship out at sea with people including army soldiers standing close enough and watched on the ground. Glasses were nothing

Naval vessel dismissed. X ray. reverse we came here for honeymoon, yacht, we came for honeymoon, before baby born, we tried to leave because they said she had to stay in Panama, overstayed visa.
