Notes
The two Washington County teams in the Pittsburgh and Suburban Rifle League, Dormont-Mt. Lebanon (Canonsburg) and Frazier-Simplex (Washington) are in first and second place in the PSRL. The two teams shot last week, firing the two highest scores recorded this season, and Dormont-Mt. Lebanon (9-0) came out on top by two points, 1488-1486 over Frazier-Simplex.
The 1488 is one point away from Dormont-Mt. Lebanon’s all-time high score, and only 5 points off the league record of 1493, fired by Waynesburg Sportsmen’s in 1980 and 1983, and by Frazier-Simplex in 2002.
One of Dormont-Mt. Lebanon’s student-athletes, Alanna Neidigh (age 19) fired her first perfect 300 in this match. Frazier-Simplex’s Riley Dunn (age 15) fired a 298 to lead her team, but also fired her first-ever 300 in Week 5 (Nov. 10, 2021). Dunn also shoots for the McGuffey Rifle Team in the WPIAL. The only other 300 fired this season was by Dean Trew in Week 6 for Dormont-Mt. Lebanon.
