As far as non-Almanac stories:

 

I am working on the Fayette LaunchBox program at Penn State Fayette. It’s an entrepreneurial program at the college. I have one more interview today at 1:30 and can begin working on that. They have sent me some pictures.

 

I’m also working on the preview for the Kitchen Launch. I do have another person or two that I’d like to talk to for that one. I didn’t know if you wanted me to add the Shark in the Park info to that or do something separately.

 

Shana Brown promised me a press release on something today, but I haven’t received it yet.

 

Almanac

 

Camp Invention is going on at Independence Middle School in Bethel Park through the end of the week. I didn’t know if you wanted me to go out there and get some pictures and do a story or whatever.

 

Speaking of Independence Middle School. Bethel Park’s PR person – James Cromie – said he’d set me up with a time to speak with the assistant superintendent, since Dr. Jansante hasn’t called me back.

 

I talked to the Upper St. Clair sophomore who has embarked on the volunteer outreach programs. They will be assembling the backpacks and hygiene kits at the high school Aug. 8 and 9. Do you want to wait for that and get pictures from that to go with the story or do it in advance of them assembling the backpacks and kits. I can do it either way.

 

The Bethel Park retiree has not returned any of my many calls for that story.

 

As for the story about the new development in Bethel Park, I still haven’t had a resident of the area wish to speak to me on record about it, other than a guy who didn’t want his name used.
