Landan Stevenson scored six touchdowns and Mapletown remained undefeated with a 49-3 victory over Bentworth in a Class A Tri-County South Conference game Friday.

The win moves Mapletown to 5-0 in the conference and 8-0 overall. The Maples are 8-0 for the first time since 1968.

Stevenson rushed for 170 yards on only 10 carries. He scored on runs of four, 21, four, 49 and two yards and caught a four-yard TD pass from Brody Evans.

The only other Mapletown TD was a 31-yard pass from A.J. Vanata to Brock Evans in the third quarter.

The Maples, who led 36-3 at halftime, rushed for 244 yards and held Bentworth (0-5, 2-6) to 106 total yards.

The Bearcats’ points came on a 27-yard field goal by Anthony Puckey in the third quarter.

Canon-McMillan 28, Upper St. Clair 24

Kaeden Singleton caught a seven-yard touchdown pass from Mike Evans with 42 seconds remaining, giving Canon-McMillan a thrilling 28-24 come-from-behind win in a non-conference game.

It was the second loss in as many weeks for USC (6-2), which scored on a 54-yard pass from Ethan Hellmann to Aiden Besselman to take a 24-21 lead with 5:53 to play.

Canon-McMillan (4-4) trailed 7-0 after one quarter, but a two-yard TD run by Jake Kasper tied the score. Kasper had a bi8g game with 197 rushing yar4ds on 29 carries.

USC regained the lead at 10-7 on a 30-yard field goal, but C-M’s Austyn Winkleblech returned the ensuing kickoff 78 yards to a touchdown that gave the Big Macs a 14-10 lead at halftime.

USC’s Jamaal Brown broke off a 99-yard TD run in the third quarter, but Canon-Mac responded and Evans scored from one yard to put the Big Macs ahead 21-17.

Washington 61, Charleroi 0

Washington got back on track after last week’s loss to Sto-Rox by shutting out Charleroi, 61-0, in the Class 2A Century Conference.

The win puts Wash High’s conference record at 3-1 and overall mark at 6-2. Charleroi is winless in four conference games and is 1-6 overall.

Zach Welsh scored three touchdowns all on runs of 5, 12 and 13 yards. Ruben Gordon scored on a 68-yard run and 20-yard pass from Davoun Fuse. Logan Carlisle took it over from 18 yards, Elijah Thomas caught a 6-yard TD from Fuse, Jaden Heyward snagged a 31 scoring pass from Logan Carlisle,and Caleb Patton had a 3-yard run to wrap up Wash High’s scoring.

Wash High’s offense rolled up 359 total yards and did not turn the ball over.

Washington’s defense allowed Charleroi only two first downs, 26 rushing yards and 41 total.

Beth-Center 37, West Greene 33

Ethan Varesko rushed for 152 yards and three touchdowns, including the go-ahead score with 5:18 remaining, as Beth-Center defeated West Greene 37-33 in a wild Class A Tri-County South Conference game.

After Beth-Center (2-3, 3-5) led 23-13 at halftime, West Greene battled back and the teams exchanged the lead four times in the second half.

Varesko, who carried 15 times, put B-C ahead 37-33 with his third score of the night. West Greene (1-4, 1-7) then drove to the Beth-Center 19-yard line but was thrown for a loss on fourth-and-one.

The loss spoiled a big game by West Greene tailback Colin Brady, who rushed for 211 yards on 25 carries and scored five touchdowns. Brady had TD runs of 11, one, 64 and 14 yards. He also caught a middle screen pass from Lane Allison and took it 54 yards for a touchdown that gave West Greene a 33-30 lead with 10:18 remaining.

Varesko had TD runs of 54 and 17 yards and Stefan Day opened the scoring with an eight-yard scamper.

South Fayette 45, Baldwin 0

Nate Deanes scored three touchdowns to help South Fayette take a 45-0 victory from Baldwin in a Class 5A game in the Allegheny Six Conference.

The win moved South Fayette’s conference record to 2-1 and overall mark to 5-3. Baldwin is 0-4, 1-7.

Deanes scored on a 25-yard run and caught passes from 51 yards and 24 yards from quarterback Nico Lamonde. Wesmyn Wright snagged a 14-yard touchdown pass from Lamonde. Tyler Nicholson added a 22-yard field goal to make it 31-0 at halftime.

Deanes rushed six times for 29 yards and caught 3 passes for 84 yards. Lamonde completed 10 of 16 passes for 207 yards and four touchdowns.

Belle Vernon 55, Mount Pleasant 7

Quinton Martin scored five touchdowns to help Belle Vernon crush Mt. Pleasant 55-7 in a Class 3A Interstate Conference game.

The win moves BV to 3-0 in the conference and 5-2 overall.

Martin scored on runs of 6, 21, and 2 yards for the Leopards. He caught a 31-yard pass for another score and returned an interception 79 yards for his final score.

Jake Gedeko scored on two runs for BV. Jackson Hutter’s 74-yard run provided Mt. Pleasant its only score.

Bishop Canevin 33, Chartiers-Houston 6

Bishop Canevin exploded for 20 points in the fourth quarter to take a 33-6 victory from Chartiers-Houston in a Class A Black Hills Conference game.

The win moves Bishop Canevin to 5-0 in the conference and 7-1 overall. Chartiers-Houston is 14-, 4-4.

Jake Mele caught a 14-yard pass from quarterback Terry Fetsko for C-H’s only score.

Jason Cross threw two touchdown passes and returned an interception 64 yards for the second score of the fourth quarter.

Mt. Lebanon 6, Peters Township 3

If you like touchdowns and plenty of points, then this was not the game for you.

Ben McAuley booted field goals of 24 and 25 yards and Mt. Lebanon’s defense made sure they were enough as the Blue Devils defeated Peters Township 6-3 in a defense-dominated non-conference game.

Peters Township (6-2) took a 3-0 lead in the first quarter when Joe Bedillion booted a 38-yard field goal, but they were the only points the Indians would score. PT played without running back Richie Woods, who sat out with an injury.

Thomas Jefferson blanked Ringgold 42-0 in a Class 4A Big Seven Conference game, Monessen rolled to a 70-30 win over Jefferson-Morgan in the Class A Tri-County South Conference and Uniontown was a 28-14 winner over Waynesburg in non-conference play. No game details were reported to the Observer-Reporter by press time.
