Matt Sieg unofficially had seven touchdowns as Fort Cherry beat Burgettstown, 48-34,in a Class A Black Hills Conference game Friday night.

The win gives Fort Cherry (5-2, 7-3) second place in the conference through tiebreaker points with plus-30. Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (5-2, 8-2), a one-point winner over Cornell, is third at plus-28 and Burgettstown (5-2, 7-2) finishes fourth at plus-19.

All three teams made the playoffs and will find out their opponents when the pairings are released today.

Fort Cherry used three touchdowns runs and a pass by quarterback Matt Sieg to lead FC to a 27-14 at halftime. Sieg scored the first touchdown of the game on 13-yard run and last of the second quarter on a short run. In between, he threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to Adam Wolfe and broke off a 75-yard scoring run in the second quarter.

Burgettstown scored on a 23-yard pass from Sonde Lunde to Zach Shrockman and a 1-yard run by Brodie Kuzior, who finished with 21 carries for 178 yards.

Sieg had two more touchdowns in the second half, helping Fort Cherry reach 366 rushing yards.

Belle Vernon 48, Elizabeth Forward 14

Quinton Martin scored five touchdowns and rushed for 174 yards on just nine carries to help Belle Vernon blow out Elizabeth Forward 48-14.

Belle Vernon wrapped up the Class 3A Interstate Conference at 5-0. The Leopards are 7-2 overall. Elizabeth-Forward lost its first game of the season, finishing 4-1 in the conference and 9-1 overall.

Martin put on a show in the first half while Belle Vernon built a 35-14 halftime lead. Martin scored on the Leopards first play from scrimmage, catching a 36-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Braden Laux. Martin’s next score was an 80-yard run to make it 14-0.

Jake Gedekoh scored next, catching a 38-yard pass from Laux.

EF got on the board when Kelly Rush snagged a 5-yard scoring pass from Zion White to cut BVA’s lead to 21-7. Martin bulled over from 1 yard to make it 28-7.

Zach Boyd caught a 28-yard pass from from White to cut Belle Vernon’s lead to 28-14. But Martin’s fourth score of the half, this one on a 27-yard pass from Laux, made it 35-14.

Martin’s fifth TD came on a 47-yard run in the third quarter.

Carmichaels 37, Jefferson-Morgan 14

Senior quarterback Alec Anderson ran for three touchdowns, passed for two scores to Tyler Richmond as playoff-bound Carmichaels defeated Jefferson-Morgan 37-14 in the 95th all-time meeting between the Class A Tri-County South Conference rivals.

Carmichaels (5-2, 7-3) finishes in a three-way tie for second place in the conference. The Mikes will be the TCS’ fourth seed, based on tiebreaker points with California and Monessen.

Anderson scored on runs of six, two and 17 yards, and threw TD passes of 54 and five yards. He also tossed a pair of two-point conversion shovel passes to Ambrose Adamson.

By passing for 210 yards, Anderson set the Carmichaels single-season passing yardage record, which was held by Brandon Lawless, who is a coach for Jefferson-Morgan. Anderson also rushed for 89 yards on 18 carries.

After a scoreless first quarter, Carmichaels reached the end zone twice in the final 2:54 of the first half, including the 54-yard bomb to Richmond, which gave the speedy senior more than 1,000 receiving yards for the season and the Mikes a16-0 lead.

J-M’s Houston Guesman returned the second-half kickoff 81 yards for a touchdown to make it 16-6, but the Mikes answered with a long drive that was capped by Anderson’s two-yard run.

John Woodward had a 28-yard TD run in the fourth quarter for J-M.

Trinity 50, Ringgold 7

Andrew Durig ran for 101 yards and scored two touchdowns to help Trinity roll past Ringgold, 50-7, in a Class 4A game in the Big 7 Conference.

The win moved Trinity to 2-4 in the conference and 4-6 overall. Ringgold stayed winless at 0-4 in the conference and 0-10 overall.

Durig scored on a 42-yard run and Luke Lacock returned an interception 30 yards for a score. Quarterback Jonah Williamson completed eight of 14 passes for 93 yards and three touchdowns. One went Lacock from 10 yards, another went 16 yards to Tony Cipoletti and a third went 11 yards to Dante DeRubbo.

Nico Mauro scored from 5 yards out and ran in a two-point conversion. Ty Banco did his best imitation of William “The Refrigerator” Perry by scoring from 4 yards out.

Evan Parsons caught a TD pass for Ringgold.

Chartiers-Houston 35, Avella 6

Terry Fetsko passed for two touchdowns and ran for another score as Chartiers-Houston ended its season with a 35-6 win over Avella in the Class A Black Hills Conference.

Chartiers-Houston (2-5, 5-5) led 14-0 at halftime and 21-0 after three quarters.

Jessie Orbin, who rushed for 21 yards on 14 carries, opened the scoring with a 10-yard TD run in the first quarter.

Fetsko threw a 51-yard scoring pass to Emanuele Ntumngia in the second quarter, and Derrian Sauls made it 21-0 with a four-yard jaunt in the third quarter.

Fetsko had a 13-yard scoring run and a 5-yard TD pass to Jake Mele in the fourth quarter.Between the two scores, Avella (1-6, 1-9) had its lone touchdown, a 27-yard pass from Cole Jaworowski to Nate Rankin.

Fetsko completed 16 of 22 passes for 146 yards. Mele had 10 receptions.

Upper St. Clair 35, South Fayette 0

Running back Jamall Brown scored five touchdowns and Upper St. Clair ended South Fayette’s playoff hopes by beating the Lions 35-0 in a Class 5A Allegheny Six Conference game.

USC (4-1, 8-2), the conference runner-up, led 14-0 after one quarter and 28-0 at halftime.

Brown scored on runs of 20, 33, 3 and 4 yards in the first half.

Brown capped the scoring in the fourth quarter when he caught a 39-yard TD pass from Ethan Hollman.

South Fayette, which was held to 141 total yards, ends its season with a 2-3 conference record and 5-5 mark overall.

In other games

Monessen secured the second seed out of the Tri-County South Conference by rallying and defeating Beth-Center 44-22. Charleroi was a 37-31 winnern at Waynesburg in the Class 2A Century Conference. No game details were reported.
