HIGH JUMP CLINIC
The Waynesburg University track & field team will be holding a pair of one-day fall high jump clinics in November. Each clinic will be run Yellow Jackets assistant coach Bill Lubich.
The events will be held on Saturday, Nov. 18, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and Tuesday, Nov. 21, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and cost $20 per session. They are open to high school athletes and coaches. Coaches will be required to pay the registration fee. Optional campus tours are available at the conclusion of each clinic session.
Coach Lubich has been working with high jumpers as an instructor and coach for more than 20 years. Participants will focus on the basic skills involved in the J- approach, take off and flight phases of the high jump. Participants will also learn methods of determining the proper approach distance and understanding the importance in developing consistency in the approach.
Participants will also be able to work on video analysis. The final 60 minutes of the night session will be open jumping to reinforce the drills from that evening.
