Jonah Williamson passed for three touchdowns and ran for another, powering fast-starting Trinity to a 38-0 victory over Chartiers Valley in a non-conference game played Friday at Mt. Lebanon High School.

Trinity (2-0) did all of its scoring in the first half, forging a 21-0 lead in the first quarter.

Williamson threw two touchdown passes to Dominic DeRubbo, covering 15 and 10 yards, and hooked up with Luke Lacock for an 85-yard scoring pass late in the first quarter.

Williamson added a 15-yard touchdown scamper in the second quarter.

Andrew Durig opened the scoring with a 25-yard touchdown run. Durig finished with 95 yards on 16 carries.

Williamson complated seven of 11 passes for 166 yards. DeRubbo had six catches for 81 yards.

North Allegheny 30, Canon-McMillan 6

Quarterback Logan Kushner ran for three touchdowns and passed for another as North Allegheny defeated visiting Canon-McMillan 30-6 in the Tri-County Five Conference opener for both teams.

North Allegheny (2-0) led 16-0 at halftime.

Kushner opened the scoring in the first quarter with a one-yard plunge. The score was set up by a bad shotgun snap from center by Canon-Mac (1-1) that was recovered by NA at the Bics Macs’ 22-yard line.

A 27-yard field goal pushed NA’s lead to 10-0 in the second quarter. The Tigers then put together a 98-yard touchdown drive that was capped by a 30-yard scamper by Kushner with 42 seconds left in the first half.

Kushner threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Nicholas Humphries in the third quarter before Canon-McMillan scored its first points on a four-yard TD run by Zach Welsh with 9:55 left to play.

Kushner capped the scoring with his third TD run, which covered 14 yards.

Kushner completed 10 of passes for 107 yards and added 171 yards on 13 rushing attempts.

Canon-McMillan was held to six first downs and 148 total yards, 72 of those coming on its touchdown drive.

California 47, Charleroi 0

Spencer Petrucci and Jake Layhue combined for nearly 400-yards rushing in California’s 47-0 victory over Charleroi Friday night.

Petrucci gained 287 yards on 17 carries and Layhue only needed six carries to rush for 100 yards.

Petrucci scored on touchdown runs of 59, 37 and 68, while Layhue found the end zone three times on runs of 61, 18 and four yards.

Lee Qualk scored on a 35-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Layhue intercepted three passes.

Belle Vernon 40, Laurel Highlands 0

Penn State recruit Quinton Martin caught two touchown passes from Braden Laux in the first half and ran for two more scores in the second half, powering Belle Vernon to a 40-0 victory over Laurel Highlands in the Leopards’ season opener.

Martin caught TD passes of 16 and seven yards in the first half, the latter with only 14 seconds left in the second quarter, giving Belle Vernon a 26-0 lead.

Anthony Crews ran 21 yards for a touchdown that opened the scoring and Jake Gedekoh had a 39-yard scoring jaunt in the second quarter.

Martin’s touchdowns covered 31 and 40 yards.

South Fayette 31, West Allegheny 14

West Allegheny did its best to keep South Fayette’s high-powered offense off the field, and the strategy appeared to work for most of the first half in non-conference action.

The Indians had a seven-point lead and forced the Lions into a fourth-and-four at the West Allegheny 40.

South Fayette quarterback Nico Lamonde eluded a sack and scampered nine yards for a first down. The senior then threw a 30-yard pass to Michael Gimigliano and Nate Deanes scored his second touchdown and the Lions tied the game at 14-14.

Gimigliano caught five passes for 95 yards and Lamonde was 9-of-15 for 155 yards.

South Fayette (2-0) took the momentum into the second half to earn a 31-14 victory.

The Lions took a 17-14 lead on Nicholson’s 38-yard field goal in the third quarter.

Deanes capped the scoring with a 10-yard run in the fourth quarter. He gained 136 yards on 17 carries.

The Indians (1-1) took the opening kickoff and marched 85 yards for a touchdown. Deanes scored from 21 yards out on South Fayette’s first possession to make it 7-7.

Roman Police put West Allegheny back in front on a 28-yard TD run in the second quarter.

West Greene 56, Chartiers-Houston 14

Colin Brady rushed for 277 yards and scored four touchdowns in West Greene’s 56-14 non-conference victory at Chartiers-Houston.

Brady’s scores came on runs of 6, 51, 58 and 35 yards, while teammate Billy Whitlatch scored on touchdown runs of 22 and 55 yards. Whitlatch gained 124 yards on seven carries.

Lane Allison threw two touchdown passes to Patrick Durbin and Seth Burns for the Pioneers (2-0).

Anthony Romano pulled in a seven-yard touchdown reception from Aaron Walsh to get the Bucaneers on the scoreboard in the second quarter after West Greene had built a 27-0 lead. Jack Lochran threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to Brady Gotfredson for the home team’s second score.

Zeke Watkins rushed for 99 yards to lead Chartiers-Houston (2-0).

Avella 22, Bentworth 15

Isaiah Bradick caught a go-ahead two-point conversion in the third quarter and ran for a touchdown in the fourth quarter as Avella defeated Bentworth 22-15 in a non-conference game.

Avella (1-1) used an 8-yard TD run by Cole Jaworowski and Chas Rush’s two-point conversion pass to Bradick to take a 16-15 lead in the third quarter.

Bradick sealed the win for the Eagles with a five-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Jaworowski opened the scoring with a 20-yard TD pass to Rush in the first quarter. Rush’s two-point conversion run gave the Eagles an 8-0 lead.

Bentworth’s Vitali Daniels threw a four-yard TD pass to Anthony Washington and a 45-yard scoring pass to Lucas Burt that gave the Bearcats (1-1) a 15-8 lead in the third quarter.

Daniels passed for 193 yards and rushed for another 43.

Bradick led the Avella ground game with 101 yards on 12 carries.

In other games

Fort Cherry routed Carmichaels 55-13, Mapletown blanked Frazier 28-0, and Cornell knocked off Monessen 20-6. Burgettstown was a 34-0 winner over Beth-Center.
