Peters Township remained in third place in Class 4A Section 2 with a 6-0 thumping of visiting Baldwin on Thursday night.

The Indians (7-3, 8-3) have won five of their last six games.

Blake Gableheart led the PT attack with two goals. Jevin Kelly, Nathan Froelich, Adam Cendrosky and Conner Heinson scord the other goals.

Girls soccer

Ella Miller scored three goals and assisted on another, sparking Waynesburg to a 7-1 win over Brownsville in Class A Section 2.

Bree Clutter had one goal and two assists, and Brynn Kirby had one goal and assist for the Raiders, who are 6-2 in section and 9-2 overall. Rylei Rastoka and Emma Kindervater also scored and lake Litwinovich contributed two assists.

Waynesburg has won six straight.

In the NFL

Miami Dolphins receiver Jaylen Waddle has cleared the NFL’s concussion protocols, coach Mike McDaniel confirmed Friday, and will be available when Miami heads to Buffalo to face the division rival Bills on Sunday.

Waddle missed the Dolphins Week 3 win over Denver after a helmet-to-helmet hit against New England in Week 2. He said he didn’t experience any concussion symptoms while in the protocol.

Waddle is averaging over 20 yards on eight catches this season.

n Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson is expected to start Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams after clearing the concussion protocol, coach Shane Steichen said Friday.

The announcement came after Friday’s light practice, Richardson’s third straight this week.

Richardson, the No. 4 overall draft pick in April, started Indy’s first two games and ran for two touchdowns at Houston. He took a hit near the goal line on the second that resulted in him getting knocked to the ground and his head bouncing hard off the turf. Richardson played two more series before reporting the injury.

He didn’t play in the second half of the win at Houston, didn’t practice last week and sat out last weekend’s 22-19 overtime victory at Baltimore.

n Deshaun Watson watched most of practice from the sideline Friday. The Cleveland Browns hope the extra rest will help their star quarterback be ready for a division rival.

Watson was listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against Baltimore because of a shoulder injury that limited him all week.

Coach Kevin Stefanski said he’s “hopeful” Watson will be healthy enough to go.

In boxing

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk have agreed to fight in Saudi Arabia in the first bout this century to unify all of the major heavyweight boxing titles.

Fury holds the WBC version of the heavyweight title and Usyk has the IBF, WBA and WBO belts. Fury’s British promoter Frank Warren announced the fight in a statement which did not give a date for the bout but said it will be held in the Saudi Arabian capital city of Riyadh.

In golf

Lexi Thompson followed a resurgent week at the Solheim Cup with a strong start in the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship.

After going 3-1 in Spain in the United States’ tie that left the cup in Europe’s hands, Thompson shot a 6-under 65 on Friday at Pinnacle Country Club. She was a stroke behind leader Hae Ran Ryu on the crowded leaderboard.

“Overall, just a very steady day,” Thompson said. “We had perfect weather out there, so I just tried to take last week into today and just fully commit to every shot that I had out there.”

Thompson is No. 138 in the Race to CME Globe and in danger of losing her LPGA Tour card for 2024 without taking a career money exemption. She has 11 tour victories, the last in the 2019 ShopRite LPGA Classic.

Ryu had four straight birdies in a back-nine 30 in her 64. The 22-year-old South Korean player was the LPGA Q-Series medalist last year.
