Put differences aside on Memorial Day

Over 1 million men and women in our military made the supreme sacrifice in defense of our country, so as we approach Memorial Day let us reflect and remember what they died for.
We are currently in the middle of a heated presidential race and our country is so divided politically. On Monday, we need to stop listening to the talking heads pontificating on TV, put our differences aside, and remember the price that was paid for our freedom, democracy, and our form of government.
As we attend ball games and gather for family picnics this weekend, let us pause and think about the families whose loved ones aren’t here to celebrate. Let us honor these fallen heroes by going to a parade, placing a flag on a veteran’s grave in a local cemetery, or attending a Memorial Day service, all while remembering the sacrifices that were made to keep our form of government and our country great.
