When Taylour Tokarski, 25, and Tyler Withrow, 26, met through mutual friends, she only wanted a friendship, and he wanted more. She recalls that they went on a ski trip to Seven Springs Mountain Resort with a group of friends, and when she left the room, Tyler told everyone he was going to marry her one day, and the two weren’t even dating at the time.

But eventually, in 2011, they began more than a friendship. However, shortly thereafter, his job as a senior airman in the United States Air Force Reserves had him leaving for six months. Their relationship stood the test of time, and in 2015, they found themselves back at Seven Springs on another ski trip with friends. “We got to the top of the ski life and were looking to see which hill to ski down,” Taylour, a registered nurse at Washington Hospital’s Emergency Department, says. “Tyler got down on one knee and said, ‘Taylour, remember four years ago when I told everyone I was going to marry you one day? Well – will you marry me?'”

While they were planning their wedding, they found out that they were expecting. They decided to incorporate a gender reveal into their reception at Destiny Hill Farms in Washington. After their first dance, when the couple cut the cake, they did – and revealed to their closest friends and family that they were having a boy.

Levi Withrow was born a week early on Nov. 30. Mom, dad and baby are all doing well and live in Hickory, along with some cows and chickens.

The details

The venue: We both love the outdoors and the country, so it was a no-brainer that our wedding had to be the same way, which is why we chose Destiny Hill Farm – outdoor ceremony, barn reception with horses in the pastures,” Taylour says.

The cake: Robin Stanton, a fellow ER nurse who also runs You Take the Cake did a vanilla “naked cake” – meaning it had no icing on the exterior to go along with the rustic theme.

The rehearsal dinner: Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza in McMurray

The caterer: The SpringHouse – the bride says the food was “amazing.”
